On being a named practice
Concierge white-glove without the casino velvet rope.

Short answer: Being a named practice means your IT partner knows you: a named account contact, an assigned engineer on higher tiers, documented preferences and runbooks for your office, and proactive attention rather than anonymous ticket handling. White-glove service should be transparent and plainly priced, not exclusive for its own sake. In CyberDental's plans, Ultimate adds a named account manager and Concierge adds a dedicated engineer.

| What 'named' means | Known preferences, documented office, proactive care |
| What it is not | Exclusivity theater, hidden tiers, opaque pricing |
| Pricing | Published per location; Concierge quoted |
What does it mean to be a "named practice"?
It means that when you call, nobody asks you to explain your office from scratch. Your engineer knows which room has the older sensor, that your doctor starts at 7:30, that the front desk uses a specific scanner and that your landlord controls the riser. You are not a ticket number. You are a practice with a name, a history and a set of preferences, and someone is responsible for knowing them.
Why does this matter in IT?
Because a large share of IT effort is context. The same symptom has different causes in different offices. A provider that remembers the context diagnoses faster, avoids repeating mistakes and notices when something is different. Anonymous support is not worse because the people are worse; it is worse because the knowledge does not accumulate in anyone's head or in anyone's documents.
What does "named" look like in practice?
- A named point of contact. On CyberDental's Ultimate plan, a named account manager.
- A dedicated engineer on Concierge, who knows the office or the group's portfolio.
- A documented office: network diagram, inventory, vendor contacts and preferences, kept current. See The first week with a dental MSP.
- Runbooks per office: how this practice starts the day, what to do in a storm, who authorizes what.
- Proactive reviews: quarterly on-site health checks on Ultimate, monthly strategy reviews on Concierge.
- A voice that recognizes yours, by name, at 7 a.m. See The HelpDesk.
What is "white-glove," and what is it not?
White-glove should mean attentiveness: care taken, details remembered, problems prevented. It should not mean exclusivity for its own sake, mystique, secret pricing or a velvet rope between those who are "in" and those who are not. A practice should always be able to see what it is buying and what it costs. CyberDental publishes per-location plans (Remote $350, Priority $650, Ultimate $1,200) and quotes Concierge because groups differ. See Concierge for DSOs.
Do you need to be a large group to be named?
No. A single-office practice on Priority or Ultimate can be well known to its provider. The structure of the plan changes how much dedicated attention is built in; the principle of being known is available to everyone. See Remote, Priority, Ultimate, Concierge.
How can a practice help its provider know it?
- Keep one designated contact.
- Tell the provider about changes before they happen: new staff, new equipment, a move.
- Share what is annoying, not just what is broken.
- Review the documentation once a year.
See How should dentists talk to IT?.
What is the measure of success?
That when something goes wrong, the person on the phone already has half the answer, and that most days, you never need to call.
Frequently asked questions
What does a named account manager do for a dental practice?
They serve as a known point of contact who understands the practice's environment, coordinates reviews and escalations, and helps plan changes. CyberDental's Ultimate plan includes one.
What does a dedicated engineer mean on CyberDental Concierge?
An engineer assigned to the group who knows its environment, supports standardization and works with the group's leadership on roadmap and reviews.
Is white-glove IT service just a premium label?
It should mean attentiveness, documentation and proactive care with transparent pricing, not exclusivity for its own sake.
