From a Hialeah helpdesk to 2.0
Ten-year letter. The origin story, without mythmaking.

Short answer: CyberDental was founded in Hialeah, Florida on March 13, 2016 as a dental-focused IT company. Ten years later it serves 1,000+ dental practices and is introducing CyberDental 2.0, an AI-first, human-powered service. The through-line has not changed: dental-only, answerable by phone and accountable for the whole environment.

How did CyberDental begin?
CyberDental was founded in Hialeah, Florida, on March 13, 2016, by Mr. Dimitri Lopez, as an IT company for dental practices. It began where most useful companies begin: with a narrow problem and a telephone. Dental offices needed someone who understood the sensor, the practice-management database and the schedule, and who would pick up. The first product was not software. It was a helpdesk that spoke dentistry.
Why dental only?
Because the work repeats and the repetition teaches. Every office has a server or a cloud connection, a sensor PC, a switch nobody labeled and a front desk that will forward an x-ray. The more offices a team sees, the faster it recognizes the pattern, and the more safely it changes things. Exclusivity was a decision to compound knowledge rather than spread it. See Why the house is dental-exclusive.
What changed between 2016 and 2026?
The environment became more consequential and more exposed:
- Imaging and chairside technology moved from accessories to the center of care.
- Ransomware and phishing became routine threats to small healthcare offices. See Why Florida dental practices get ransomed.
- Regulation tightened in practice as OCR made risk analysis a recurring enforcement theme. See Risk analysis vs risk management.
- Groups and DSOs grew, creating demand for standardization. See Florida DSO growth and what it does to IT.
- Cloud and hybrid practice management changed where failures happen. See Server in the closet vs cloud PMS.
The company grew with it, from a Hialeah desk to a dental-exclusive provider serving more than 1,000 practices and completing more than 250 new-office build-outs. See 1,000 practices, 250 build-outs.
What is CyberDental 2.0?
2.0 is the next generation of the service, not a new company: an AI-first, human-powered model. Smart Agent monitors and repairs routine faults around the clock; Core answers questions on the website; humans own escalation, judgment and the relationship. The aim is to resolve more before the practice opens and to spend human attention where it matters. See The self-healing practice and CyberDental Corp vs Group vs 2.0.
What has not changed?
- Dental only.
- A phone number answered by a person: (954) 639-7049.
- Accountability for the whole environment, not just the part that is easiest to bill.
- A signed BAA before work begins.
- Plain pricing: per location, published. See Why dental IT is priced per location.
What is the point of telling this without mythmaking?
Because the facts are enough: a founder, a city, a date, a narrow focus and ten years of repetition. The rest is the work. See the annual letter for 2026 for what this year asked.
