Short answer: No. CyberDental does not make, sell, license or resell practice-management software (PMS). It supports the IT environment around Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental and Curve Dental: servers, workstations, networks, backups, security and vendor coordination. The software license stays between the practice and its publisher.

What is a practice-management software vendor?

A PMS vendor publishes the software that runs scheduling, charting, billing, insurance claims and patient records. Dentrix (Henry Schein One), Eaglesoft (Patterson Dental), Open Dental (Open Dental Software) and Curve Dental are examples. Practices license the software, often through a dealer or directly from the publisher, and pay for updates and support.

So what does CyberDental do around the PMS?

CyberDental runs the environment the PMS lives in. That includes the server or cloud connection, workstations, networking, printers, imaging sensors, backups, endpoint security, patching and the HelpDesk that answers when "Dentrix is slow" or "Eaglesoft won't open." When the problem is inside the software itself, such as a bug or a licensing question, CyberDental coordinates with the publisher's support team on the practice's behalf.

Why does the distinction matter?

  • Commercial clarity. Your PMS license, renewal and support contract are with your publisher. CyberDental does not appear on those invoices and does not earn commission on the software.
  • Independence. A provider that does not sell the PMS has no incentive to steer you toward one platform or away from another. See Server in the closet vs cloud PMS.
  • Legal clarity. CyberDental is a business associate MSP. It is not a covered entity's software publisher or reseller. See We do not sell PMS licenses.

Does CyberDental support all four platforms equally?

CyberDental supports Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental and Curve Dental environments. They fail in different ways, which is the point of Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental — the IT differences. If you run a less common PMS, call the HelpDesk and ask before assuming.

What if I want to switch PMS?

CyberDental can advise on the infrastructure implications of a migration, such as server sizing, bandwidth, imaging bridges and backup changes, but the purchase is made with the publisher or dealer. A migration plan is stronger when the MSP and the vendor work from the same checklist.
