CyberDental vs Henry Schein TechCentral

A supply dealer's IT arm is not a dental-exclusive MSP.

Journal · Identity · A·06 | Last reviewed: October 1, 2026 | 3 min read | By CyberDental Group LLC, Hialeah, Florida

Short answer: Henry Schein is a dental supply and technology company; TechCentral is its IT services offering. CyberDental is a dental-exclusive MSP that does not sell supplies, equipment or PMS licenses. The structural difference is incentive and scope: a dealer's IT arm sits inside a company that also sells you products, while CyberDental's only product is the IT service itself.

What is Henry Schein TechCentral?

Henry Schein is one of the largest distributors of dental supplies and equipment in North America, and it is closely tied to the Dentrix practice-management software through Henry Schein One. TechCentral is the technology services offering through which Henry Schein supports practices' IT. This article describes it only in general terms; for specifics, always confirm scope, pricing and response terms directly with the vendor.

What is the structural difference?

The difference is not quality; it is what else the company sells.

  • Dealer-attached IT. The same organization may also sell you the chair, the sensor, the scanner and the software. Its IT service can be a genuine, capable offering, and it can also sit inside a larger commercial relationship with its own priorities.
  • Dental-exclusive MSP. CyberDental sells IT service and nothing else. It does not sell supplies, equipment lines or PMS licenses, so its recommendations are not tied to inventory or software commissions. See We do not sell PMS licenses.

Where might a dealer's IT arm be a good fit?

If a practice is already deeply tied to one dealer's software and equipment, wants a single vendor relationship for purchasing and IT, and values that bundled convenience, a dealer-attached option can be reasonable. That is a legitimate preference.

Where does a dental-exclusive MSP tend to fit better?

  • A practice that runs mixed vendors (one PMS, another's imaging, a third's scanner) and wants one accountable party for the whole environment.
  • A practice that wants independent advice about hardware and software choices.
  • A practice or group that cares about response commitments and security depth as the primary purchase criteria, not as an add-on to a purchasing relationship.
  • A de-novo build-out where the network must be designed before equipment is chosen. See Florida de-novo IT build-out checklist.

Which questions should you ask either provider?

  1. Will you sign a Business Associate Agreement before touching our systems?
  2. What is the written response commitment for a down operatory, and who answers the phone at 7 a.m.?
  3. Do you monitor and patch our imaging and PMS environment, or only Windows?
  4. Who is accountable if the vendor's equipment and your IT service disagree about the cause?
  5. What does cancellation look like?

These questions work for CyberDental too; ask them. The broader comparison lives in CyberDental vs dealer IT.

Frequently asked questions

Is Henry Schein TechCentral the same as CyberDental?

No. TechCentral is the IT services offering of Henry Schein, a dental supply and technology company. CyberDental is an independent, dental-exclusive MSP that does not sell supplies or PMS licenses.

Does CyberDental work in offices that use Dentrix from Henry Schein One?

Yes. CyberDental supports Dentrix environments. Using Dentrix does not require using Henry Schein's IT services.

Which is cheaper, dealer IT or an independent dental MSP?

It depends on scope. Compare like for like: monitoring, patching, security stack, response times, BAA, and what is billed separately. Ask both for a written scope.
